Marches Conservation

Older buildings often require a little more care and attention to detail when it comes to making structural adjustments. Extra care should be taken in assessing a listed building or a building in a conservation area, especially in the interest of reducing carbon emissions and environmental impact. We can provide sympathetic and professional building conservation services in Hereford, Leominster, Ludlow and surrounding areas; helping our clients to maintain older properties and their authentic features.

If you wish to make any adjustments or changes to these buildings, it's important you know you have the right to. Otherwise, you may need to undo the work done - a costly mistake.

Repair & Conservation Case Study

Recent Projects Example

Project Type: Granted aided conservative repair

Project Location: Bangrove, Worcestershire

Project Details: This building was found to be in a perilous condition and in an advanced state of collapse. The Grade 2 listed building required a full structural survey and assessment.

A conservative repair schedule was drawn up liaising with the local authority conservation department. A formal listed building consent application was made and approved along with a successful grant application to Natural England. The construction work was supervised on site and involved extensive timber frame repairs, re-roofing, pointing and rendering in lime based mortars. The building is now very sound and stable and well valued as a useful farm asset.
